Canine wrist/ancle weight cuffs are used for rehabilitating some injuries and for building muscle strength. All training with the canine wrist/ancle weight cuffs should be with a gradual increase of the weight. Begin your training without weights and gradually increase (slowly) the weight up to max 2 gram per kilogram of your dog's body weight, if you haven't got other advice from a veterinarian or physiotherapist.
The wrist/ancle weight cuffs are light and has velcro that makes them easy to put on and take off. It is easy to increase the weight with the help of weights, e.g. curtain weights or coins. If you want to use the wrist/ancle cuffs with weights, we recommend increasing the length by about one centimeter. If the wrist/ancle weight cuffs feel too big at first, you can fill them with wadding (or cotton) to fill them out.
Size
Size 11.5-13.5 is available in two versions, 3 cm width and 5 cm width, to suit both short and long legged dogs (if you need a narrower width please write that in the message box at checkout).
Dogs that are smaller than 8.5 cm or larger that 16 cm, we ask you to write your dog's measurement in the field below. Please, also let us know the breed of your dog, so that we can adjust the height of the wrist/ancle weight cuffs. Please note that these wrist/ancle weight cuffs are especially made for your dog, so there are no right of withdrawal, so please measure carefully to make sure the measurement is correct.
How to measure
Hind legs
Measure above the hock. The dog must put weight on the leg to get correct measurement and the wrist/ancle weight cuff should be close-fitting. If you want to use the wrist/ancle weight cuffs with extra weights, we recommend increasing the length by about one centimeter. If the wrist/ancle weight cuffs feel too big at first, you can fill them with wadding (or cotton) to fill them out.
Front legs
Measure above the carpus (above the carpal pad).
